At today's general assembly of the Tourism Forum Incoming, the activities of the past 3 years were reviewed in short at the beginning of the meeting - to be seen in the download area: www.tourismus-forum.at/de/aktuell-archiv/downloads (in german) - as well as the account management was checked. In unanimous resolution the cashier was discharged and afterwards the entire executive committee as well. After there was neither an alternative election proposal nor dissenting votes during the new election of the board, which was foreseen by the statutes, the current board was reinstated for a further period. The Tourismus Forum Incoming presents the previous and re-elected team with Mr. Helmut Bernhart / Mundivision Incoming as chairman, Mrs. Gerda Knapp / Top Travel as deputy chairman, Mrs. Sandrine Cornu / Columbus Welcome Touristik as treasurer and Mrs. Christiane Tronigger in her capacity as secretary.
Austrian Travel & Event Protocol
Already in autumn 2020, in view of a foreseeable end of the pandemic and the resumption of travel activities, a separate project was launched. In close cooperation between the Tourism Forum Incoming and the EMBA / Event Marketing Board Austria was developed its own seal of approval in 2 variants under the names "Austrian Travel Protocol" and "Austrian Event Protocol", which is now only after the last relaxations of the federal government of the resumption in the tourism and event business as of July 1st 2021 to serve our customers as a collection of information on the latest measures. All officially registered incoming bureaus and event agencies are welcome to use the information together with the logos to set a signal for "safe travel" in Austria.
Press Relations TFI
As discussed at the last meeting of the TFI, there are still massive obstacles in the area of group travel within Europe due to the extremely different entry regulations, testing and quarantine rules as well as measures and restrictions in the hotel industry, gastronomy, transportation as well as cultural enterprises. This is still the biggest handicap to revive tourism in all its diversity. Unfortunately, the government and ministries only concentrate on the domestic market, an EU-wide cooperation - or at least with our neighboring countries - does not happen. Our member companies will now raise this issue in the near future with appropriate publicity in the media. May the exercise succeed!
Perspectives paper FG Travel Agencies
Unfortunately, also yesterday's PK did not show any concrete data for the planning security of tourism. Not only the vacation of the Austrians but also the incoming urgently needs perspectives for reopening and clear framework conditions. For this reason, the entire Austrian travel industry - including the TFI - appeals to the federal government urgently to enable a package of measures for an orderly re-start of tourism. The detailed package of demands of the travel industry can be found under the following link: Demands of the travel industry
New cooperation between TFI and BVDIU
After some preliminary talks between Mr. Jens Blaumeier, vice president of the Federal Association of German Incoming Entrepreneurs, and the chairman of the Tourism Forum Incoming Mr. Helmut Bernhart, a new cooperation was launched at the end of January 2021.
This is based on the mutual partner membership in the associations, with the aim of exchanging information about the activities in the future, participation in the planned events of the associations (digital or in person), as well as constant communication regarding common interests of the incoming industry also at EU level.
Commenting on the reconfirmation of the partnership, Mr. Alex G. Elsohn, President of the BVDIU, said: "We see this as a strengthening of the representation of our interests within the framework of the tourism industry, as cross-border thematic cooperation between the country networks, especially within the framework of the EU, an important sign and also a necessity.
